Tussar silk is made by the larvae of silk moths, living in the wild forest. They do not breed on mulberry, which is the most common food source for most silk worms. Though cheaper than mulberry silk, a genuine Tussar silk saree will little bit costlier. Tussar Silk has rich abrasive texture and fine fabric. Due to porous and breathable quality of Tussar Silk, one can wear in summer also.
Kalamkari sarees are made with natural colors using vegetable dyes. The real handmade kalamkari sarees will always be of earthy muted tones with a faded look. A total of 23 steps are required to be followed to make the art of Kalamkari, like dyeing, bleaching, hand painting, block-printing, starching, cleaning, fixation etc.
